B. V. Naidu played an instrumental role in the growth of the IT industry in India in his capacity as Director of Software Technology Parks of India, Bangalore and Hyderabad. He was instrumental in enabling growth by facilitating active engagement of industry, government departments and educational institutions and oversaw the growth in STPI from 13 companies in 1991 to more than 1800 companies in 2007. He was a founding trustee of Indian Institute of Information Technology Bangalore and Founder Chairman of Indian Semiconductor Association. Currently, he is the co-Chairman of the "Karnataka ICT Group" set up by the Chief Minister of Karnataka to strategize growth for 2020.B. V.
